With all the political correctness of this day and age, some have chosen to view God as gender neutral while some have decided to view God as a female rather than male entity. All of this debate is unfortunate because Scripture, itself, declares God to have both male and female traits. Yes, He is God our Father. Yet, He revealed Himself covenantally to Abraham as El Shaddai. The name 'El Shaddai' implies that He is the One who will nourish, supply and satisfy all our needs. God is completely secure in revealing His fatherly and motherly characteristics throughout the Bible.
