Sit, Walk, Stand is a short and easy book to read about our identity in Christ, but the principles that Watchman Nee presents could take a lifetime to digest and live out. In this book, Nee takes Paul's outline in the book of Ephesians and shares how the believer in Christ must first learn to sit in Christ's provision before he can successfully walk and stand in Christ. From the seated position of Christ in you, and you in Christ, all the power of God flows for successful living as a Christian.
We asked every member of our local church to buy and study a copy of Sit, Walk, Stand, while we preached a sermon series through it. It became a very powerful revelation in many lives in our congregation. Below are some practical ways that Ephesians says we are seated in Christ:
· Seated in every spiritual blessing (1:3)
· Seated in chosen status (1:4)
· Seated in adoption (1:5)
· Seated in acceptance (1:6)
· Seated in redemption (1:7)
· Seated in Christ’s inheritance (1:11)
· Seated in being sealed by the Holy Spirit (1:13)
· Seated in guarantees, deposits, and down payments of the Holy Spirit (1:14)
· Seated in Christ’s life (2:1)
· Seated in God’s mercy (2:4)
· Seated in God’s love (2:4)
· Seated in God’s grace (2:5,7)
· Seated in Christ’s authority (2:6)
· Seated in faith (2:8)
Understanding our identity in Christ in these areas, and the way we are seated in Him, will completely change the way we go about walking out and taking a stand in Him for the rest of our lives.
