I like it when James says, “But God gives more grace” (James 4:6).
A consistent theme in Scripture is that God’s grace both exalts people and humbles people. Therefore the apostles and prophets were always encouraging God’s people to humble themselves before the Lord, so that He can exalt them.

You have many teachers, but only one father (1 Corinthians 4:15).
It’s a simple song that many of us learned as young children, but the truth hasn’t changed now that we’re adults. It’s a truth that needs to deepen in us, because we need to remember it in today’s world more than ever.
Paul wrote to Timothy,
You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 2:1).
The command to be strong in the grace of God implies that it is possible to be weak in God’s grace. Many are weak in it today.
The pharaohs of old built great pyramids, then had their bodies mummified and their treasures placed with them in the pyramid after they died. Unfortunately for them, modern-day grave robbers proved that after they died, the treasure remained in the pyramid, and did not transition with them to another life.
