Prosperous Health Through God's Word

Posted in [Success Stories], [Youth] By Pastor Jonathan Clark

We lead busy lives in the 21st century. Always on the go—an appointment here, a deadline there, the kids need to be picked up, don’t forget about tonight’s previously scheduled engagement…we need a break. We need to be grounded. We need clarity. What we need most is the Word of God:

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Psalm 119:105).

To provide stability, busy lives need the anchor of God’s Word. Our internet culture provides us with massive volumes of information. Information is good, but what is needed most is truth and substance. God’s Word provides substance and truth:

All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man (or woman) of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

The inspired Word of God lays out the general blueprint for living. And yet, because God’s Word is living and powerful (Hebrews 4:12), a believer can receive specific direction for his or her circumstances. This is possible because the author of the Bible, Holy Spirit, lives inside the believer and interprets His Word (John 16:12-13).

As the Word of God stabilizes us spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and socially, we are well positioned to live a life of good health! The Word of God encourages in 3 John verse two,

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
